At Matt and Amy's wedding, Chris' uncle Dana gave us a book called "Forever Family", written by a woman in their church (or surrounding area?) about her and her husband's foster care story. It's the raw truth, and doesn't necessarily have a happy ending...and I LOVED reading it. We start our foster care classes on Monday, and I'm realizing how little I know about the system and emotions and process and everything. I'll be looking for some more reading as we go through the class, and am really excited (and a bit scared?!) to learn about the fostering process.
*The book is so local that there isn't a picture available online...fun, huh?!
