Book #15: Prodigal Summer

Prodigal Summer
by Barbara Kingsolver

This was the first Barbara Kingsolver book I've read, and I really enjoyed it. This book revolved around nature and it's human inhabitants in one area of the Appalachian Mountains (and surrounding areas). There are three main stories that eventually weave themselves together: 1) Moth Love, 2) Predators, and 3) Old Chestnuts. It brings the reader into the world of trees, bugs, predators, and the circle of life...and definitely made me aware of my small place in a much larger scheme of life. I'm looking forward to reading some of her other books, and really enjoyed this one. Recommended!
